WebQuests incorporate the use of the Internet and graphic organisers as resources and tools for information literacy. This site contains examples of WebQuets as well as a template for creating WebQuests for students.
Why Try?
The ‘Why Try?’ Programme is a strength-based approach to helping young people overcome their challenges and improve outcomes in the areas of truancy, behaviour, and academics. It is based on Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Social and Emotional Intelligence and Multi-Sensory Learning principals. Teachers on NBSS partner schools have been trained in the programme.The programme aims to improve student retention, academic performance and school climate. WordsWorth Literacy Programme
The WordsWorth Literacy Programme is for adults and children who need help to develop good reading and spelling skills. It was developed in Ireland over the last 18 years by Rita Treacy who is a Consulting Speech & Language Therapist. WordsWorth is a web Application that has teaching videos with supporting interactive graphics and follow-up exercises. There are seven hierarchical levels to the programme which follow an analytical line and they must be followed step-by-step in the correct order for the programme to work successfully
