Communication Trust
The Comunication Trust is a UK organisation whose work focuses on supporting children and young people who struggle to communicate because they have speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) as well as supporting all children and young people to communicate to the best of their ability. Each October the Communication Trust in the UK supportss schools to run a "No Pens Wednesday" to encourage childrens speaking, listening and communication skills in the classroom across all topic and subject areas.
Comprehensive, Integrated, Three-Tiered (CI3T) Model of Prevention
CI3T models are data-informed, graduated systems of support constructed to address academic, behavioural, and social domains, with an overarching goal of supporting all learners in inclusive environments by maximizing available expertise through professional collaborations among school personnel (Lane, Kalberg, & Menzies, 2009). This model recognises students’ multifaceted needs and offers a structure to consider students’ multiple needs simultaneously in an integrated fashion.

The Department of Education and Skills website contains information on the work of the Department, as well as providing associated linkages to key agencies and bodies in the educational and scientific sectors.
Dyslexia Association of Ireland
The Dyslexia Association of Ireland promote awareness of Specific Learning Disability (SLD/Dyslexia) and serves the needs of people with this difficulty. Through its 33 parent support groups in local areas they provide information and run out-of-school facilities (workshops) for children. The site contains valuable information and excellent resources such as 'Factsheets for Second Level'.
Dyspraxia Association of Ireland
The Dyspraxia Association of Ireland promots awareness of Dyspraxia in Ireland in order to create a better understanding of the difficulties children and parents face. The site contains useful information and tips for teachers.
Edutopia
The Edutopia website, supported by the George Lucas Educational Foundation, provides a range of resources and research articles on educational issues including Social and Emotional Literacy.
EPPI-Centre
The Evidence for Policy and Practice Information and Co-ordinating Centre (EPPI-Centre) is part of the Social Science Research Unit at the Institute of Education, University of London. The Centre conducts reviews of research in the social sciences and provides on-line access to findings.
Everybody Writes
The Everybody Writes UK website offers classroom teachers innovative ideas and practical resources to get primary pupils and secondary students excited about writing.
Friends for Life
FRIENDS is an evidence-based early intervention and prevention programme designed to help children and teenagers cope with feelings of fear, worry, and depression by building resilience and self-esteem and teaching cognitive and emotional skills. Friends is the only childhood anxiety prevention programme acknowledged by the World Health Organisation for its 12 years of comprehensive evaluation and practice. Teachers in some NBSS partner schools have been trained to implement this programme. This site provides information on the programme.
HADD Family Support Group - Ireland
HADD Family Support Group is a group of parents and professionals who have come together to raise awareness of ADHD/ADD and to offer support, information and advice through sharing experiences and resources. The site conatins useful information for parents and educators.
