The Helsinki Brief Therapy Institute have applied ideas about "solution talk" to a variety of populations. Their "re-teaming" approach uses solution focused ideas to help build a collaborative approach to problem-solving and solution-building in a variety of practical situations .They have developed "Kids' skills" - ReTeaming with Children: An Educational Programme for Helping Children Solve Behavioural Problems
I CAN
Children and young people with speech, language and communication needs find it difficult to communicate with others. Some children find it hard to: understand what is said to them, form words and construct sentences, find the right words to express thoughts and feelings, and understand rules for social interaction and conversation. The I CAN site provides information and resources on speech, language and communication needs (SLCN).
International Institute for Restorative Practices
The International Institute for Restorative Practices is dedicated to the advanced education of professionals at the graduate level and to the conduct of research that can develop the growing field of restorative practices. International Reading Association is a world-wide organisation concerned with improving reading. It publishes journals, and encourages effective teacher education and research.
IXL - Maths
IXL provides numerous maths activities suitable for students from Junior Infants to Third Year. There are visual representations, word problems, interactive activities and an abundance of maths problems for every learning style. Assessments and reports are also provided allowing for the identification of areas that need attention.
JCSP Literacy
The JCSP Literacy site contains information and resources on literacy and numeracy for schools involved in the Junior Certificate School Programme. The resources are available to download for schools participating in the JCSP programme via the log-in area.
Kent ICT
Kent ICT website aims to support both teachers and students in the use of ICT across the curriculum by providing resources, lesson ideas and links to 'safe' websites on the internet across subject areas.
Manga High
Manga high is a games-based-learning site, where students learn Mathematics via purpose-built games that balance fun and learning. Games-Based Learning fuses computer games and academic subjects to provide a supplement to traditional pedagogy. Each game covers certain learning topics and is designed to adapt in difficulty to the ability of the student in order to aid the student to stay in their zone of proximal development. The site is geared towards primary school level but could be useful for 1st and 2nd year students who find maths difficult.
