Learning & Reading Strategies Bookmarks

The development of an effective school-wide approach to the teaching of key reading and learning skills - making connections, self-questioning, visualising, inferring, determining importance, summarising, synthesising and self-monitoring - can help students become more purposeful, active readers and learners. These Reading and Learning Strategies Bookmarks highlight key skills and are designed to supplement the teaching of strategies as outlined in the NBSS teacher resource 'Comprehension & Learning Strategies for All Subjects' and in NBSS 'Reading and Learning Startegies handouts'.

These classroom posters are designed to supplement the teaching of the strategies outlined in the NBSS teacher resource Comprehension & Learning Strategies for All Subjects, such as finding the main idea, questioning, visualising, making connections, using text clues and using fix-it up strategies.
